Research for task three

Jay maisel
Jay began his career in photography in 1954 after studying graphic design and painting , he has gone on to photograph people such as Marilyn Monroe. Most people know him for capturing colour, light and gesture in everyday life. He has won many awards from various organisations. He has continued to work on his personal work while also selling his work and teaching lectures to many people.

After looking at his work I came to realize that he focus on a a simple scene and he captures the setting in a visually appealing scene and focuses on the important details. He includes colours that are prominent in his images and adds eye catching detail which attracts the viewers attention. From what I've read he uses film to keep that type of photography alive and use it to create amazing photographs that can showcase scenes the best way om film.

Jerry Uelsmann
He was born in Detroit on June 11 in 1934, after receiving his degree he began to teach photography in the university of Florida. As he is a fellow of the royal photographic society and also a founding member of the society of photographic teaching which allowed him to showcase his work in many exhibitions in England and other aboard locations. Many of his work is also included in permanent collections shown in the museums.

In his work I like the way he uses shadows and features of the background to his advantage to improve the image. The way he produces and sets up his images is very creative and unique which makes is images stand out. The way he composes his photographs is interesting and offers an different perspective. I like the way he uses a normal setting and then adds something to change the entire image looks which makes his work stand out. Even though his images are in black and white there is eye catching detail which attracts the attention from viewers.

Andy Glass

He is most known for his work in the advertising world and he has created the most recognizable, memorable ads where some have even became a part of pop culture.  He knows how to blend the art of photography and technology perfectly which allows his work to be successful and popular.  In every one of his photographs he includes a interesting and creative colour pallete to improve his images and achieve the desired outcome. Having experience with shooting landscapes has allowed him to take something simple and turn it into a piece of art, he is able to capture the simple lines that are placed in the landscapes that exists. Being one of Nikon's specially featured photographs and also regularly has worked showcased in the press, is just a few of his accomplishments.

When I picked images of his I liked all include glass and vibrant colours as they are shot simply and effectively.  I can see how these images work as advertising promotions. These images are very simple which adds to the effectiveness. He takes something simple and makes it unique and appealing.  When he is photographing he makes sure to highlight a vibrant colour and make it  focus point of the image.  When looking at his images I was intrigued by the way he uses the light in his photos as they highlight the subject and makes the images interesting.

Erik Johansson
He is based in Sweden at the moment however he works with clients worldwide. When he is working he is not capturing moments he is capturing ideas. The way he creates his photographs is by using Photoshop and editing the images to get the outcome he wants.

The way he uses country landscapes to create his images is interesting and creative.  I like the way he incorporates modern items which add to the creativeness  My personal favorite is the one of the women painting the floor as its very simple and effective, I also like how the blue is so vibrant that viewers attention is directed towards the floor.  I like how he uses a simple landscape shot and then adds an object that changes how the viewer looks at the image.
