First Shoot Contact sheet

Overall thoughts

The purpose of this photo shoot was to create forced perspective images using the landscape of Bradford and objects. The only difficulty I had with this photo shoot was trying to find inspiration and objects to use and another problem I occurred with was focusing my camera as either my camera focused on the foreground or the background.  For most of my images, I used people to create the effect, which allowed me to have creative images with people interacting with objects. Majority of the images were taken outside as I wanted natural light in my photographs. Each image made me take practice shots so that I was able to adjust my settings to capture the image properly to showcase the effect in the best way.  I have plans to re-shoot as I believe I can create better images. Before setting out, I wrote a list of places I wanted to take photos at, objects I wanted to use and ways to frame either the objects or people. This helped me know what I was doing and to focus on taking the image, I also took photographs of things not on my list which I thought of while on location.

Picked Photographs

The first image was achieved by asking my friend to lay on the ground and pose with her mouth open, I did this to create the illusion that the water was coming out of her mouth. the problem that occurred when taking this photograph as I wasn't low enough to achieve the effect I wanted. I framed the photo this way to make sure the water is the main focus and for my friend to still be central. I believe this is one of the two of the successful images I created in this shot as both objects I wanted to capture are in focus.

This image was created by having my friend stand in front of my camera and place her hands and arms in this position allowing me to capture this image. Being able to photograph this was slightly difficult as I had my lens on an automatic setting. There is a slight over exposure on the arm of my friend, this slightly distracts the viewer. As green is showing at the top of the photograph this connects very well with the bottom part of the image.

A successful attempt at forced perspective I believe is shown here, as I have two of my friends helping me achieve the effect in my image. The only change I would make is to ask the person in front to lower her hand a little, this would have allowed it to create a more effective forced perspective image. I timed my image so that no one would be walking by destroying the effect created.

As this is the only image taken inside and because of this it has a yellowish lighting effect placed over it, which darkens the person in the photo. A way to improve this photo I could of moved my camera down allowing to improve the illusion of forced perspective. This has shown me that I could consider every position and camera angle to get the best shot.
This image was taken in city park and wasn't a successful attempt at forced perspective. I placed the show here because of the bright sky and vibrant colours I wanted to capture. This was taken on a sunny day which allowed the main object to be highlighted very well.
